World of Warcraft: Forever

WoW Forever rulesets, explained

Forever has no realms. You pick a region and a ruleset, and everyone on that pair plays on one shared megaserver. That choice decides who you can fight, which faction you can be, and which guilds you can join.

  • Launches November 4, 2026
  • Level cap 60
  • First two raids open December 9, 2026
  • Hardcore arrives Winter 2026

The four rulesets

Normal

The standard game. No open-world PvP unless you choose it, and you can play Alliance and Horde side by side. The safe pick if you are not sure.

Both factions allowed

Be the first Normal guild →

PvP

Open-world PvP outside the starting zones. You can only be one faction on PvP, so the guild you join is a long-term choice.

One faction per account

Be the first PvP guild →

RP

For roleplayers. Plays like Normal, with naming and conduct rules for people who want to stay in character.

Both factions allowed

Be the first RP guild →

How it works

Are there realms in WoW Forever?

No. Forever is realmless: everyone in a region on the same ruleset shares one layered megaserver. Instead of a realm, guilds list their region and ruleset, and that is how you find them here.

Can I play both factions on PvP?

No. The PvP ruleset is faction-locked: one faction per account. Normal, RP and Hardcore let you play both. Settle on your faction before you join a PvP guild.

Which ruleset should I pick?

Normal if you want to play with friends on either faction without world PvP. PvP if fighting the other faction is the point. RP if you want to stay in character. Hardcore, when it arrives, if one life is the challenge you want.

What about language?

Many languages share each region, so guilds list the language they speak. You can filter any guild list by language.

How do character names work?

Characters have a first and a last name, and the full name is unique within your region. With no realm to tell people apart, the full name is how guildmates find you.

Where is Oceania?

Oceanic players use the Americas region. Pick Americas when you search for a guild.
